A couple of weeks ago I went to the Edward Tufte workshop on information design. Tufte is an excellent lecturer and if you ever get a chance to go to one of his workshops, do so.

Since going though, I’ve been on the look out for how we present information in the wild and there’s many confusing and strange ways people present information.

However, I have found an example of excellent information presentation: the Five Guys menu!

As I was deciding on between getting bacon or not I just noticed how great everything was laid out.

You can see clearly what each item costs, and how many calories you would consume by getting such item.

The typography lets the reader know what amount of weight to give to each bit of data presented on the menu.

Reading left to right, you get what people are usually there for (burgers) but also supplemental items are presented side by side.

It’s pretty dope, looking at this menu and getting so much information right away!
